Search the Starting Property Before Leaving
The starting house and surrounding property are the first places to look for RV parts in the demonstrated Nomad Drive demo. Players find operating components inside rooms and cupboards, around the garage, and on the ground outside. After the first drive, roadside buildings and containers become the next source of replacements.
Use the vehicle checklist to distinguish an essential missing component from bodywork you can keep searching for later. Community demonstrations attach wheels, an engine, a battery, a radiator, a handbrake, and a steering wheel during the opening. They also find doors and lights while exploring the property, but those objects are not all piled beside the vehicle.
Look around before making a long trip on foot. In the recorded opening, returning to nearby rooms and the exterior reveals parts the player had initially overlooked. That supports a thorough search, not one fixed room location for every generated start.
Check Roadside Buildings and Containers
Community demo playthroughs find replacement parts while visiting shipping containers, towers, radio-station-style buildings, and gas stations. A bus stop can also provide useful supplies even when it looks less substantial than a larger building.
One recorded trip finds a matching door among shipping-container loot, replaces a worn tire with a better one, and gathers another engine repair kit. The same player later encounters body pieces that belong to another vehicle rather than the van they are driving.
Treat these as examples of actual finds, not guaranteed drop tables. The official Nomad Drive description identifies the world as procedurally generated. The developer's update history also records changes to loot placement at particular points of interest, so an old video's precise object position may not match your version.
Match the Part to the Vehicle Before Taking It
A familiar shape is a clue, but the attachment prompt is more useful. Carry the part to its likely mount and check whether the game offers the correct attachment action. If it does not, consider whether it is for another side, another mount, or another vehicle.
Use the available condition information when choosing mechanical replacements. In one older-demo example, the player compares a found tire with worn installed tires and keeps a serviceable extra as a spare. This is more useful than assuming every newly found component is an improvement.
For maintenance items, keep the distinction between the part and its repair tool. The demonstrations identify engine repair kits and tire repair kits separately. Finding one type does not establish that it can repair every component.
Keep Parts for a Future Vehicle Swap
In a Steam community report, a player finds a stripped larger RV and moves wheels, seats, an engine, and other components from the starting van. Keeping your existing vehicle serviceable therefore gives you both transportation and potential parts for an upgrade.
Before dismantling the current vehicle, inspect the replacement and the supplies around it. Transfer compatible operating parts, check its fluids, and test it before committing the rest of your cargo. A missing door should not cause you to overlook a working engine or useful battery nearby.
These searches and swaps come from older demo material. The original demo was replaced with a newer, reduced-content build before Early Access. Use your current item names, mounts, and prompts when applying the search method.
FAQ
Where is the starting engine?
The recorded openings find their essential parts around the starting house and property. Search both inside and outside; the material does not establish one universal engine location.
Does every body part fit my van?
No. Demo players encounter parts that belong to another position or vehicle. Check the actual attachment prompt before assuming compatibility.
Should I carry every duplicate part?
Compare condition and usefulness first. A serviceable spare or missing component is valuable, but the demonstrations do not establish that every duplicate is needed for progression.
